The Iranian regime's Revolutionary Guards navy announced early on Sunday that it had closed the Strait of Hormuz until further notice, state media reported, after firing what it called a warning shot at a vessel it said had attempted to transit the strait by a route unapproved by the Persian Gulf Strait Authority.
The closure is open-ended and conditional, tied by the regime to U.S. aggression in the region and set to hold until that interference ends. No independent monitor has yet corroborated the vessel incident, and the account rests entirely on Iranian state media. The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) has restated that transit outside its designated routes carries no guarantee of safe passage and that any consequence falls on owners, operators and commanders.
