The game desk
Quizzes and games built on the record. Guess the numbers most people get wrong, sort claims from spin, draw the district lines yourself, and work the scenarios. Every answer comes with its grounding in law and evidence, and your score follows your account.
How this works
Reasoning, not trivia
Scenarios branch on the calls you make. You score points for the most grounded choice at each step, but every option is explained, including the weak ones, so a poorer answer still teaches rather than just marking you wrong.
Call it puts a slider under a number most people get wrong. Lock in your estimate, then see the real figure, the average guess, and the source.
Sort the deck deals you claims to sort into piles, one by one, with the reasoning behind every card. Hold the line and the streak builds.
Draw the district hands you the map. Paint the districts and watch what the lines alone can do to an election.
The quizzes are open to every signed-in member. The games are a perk of paid membership.
What we will not do. We teach method, never conclusions: you score for recognizing techniques and grounding claims, not for agreeing with anyone, including us. Every tool here works on Crust News too. Turn them on us.
Ranks. Grounded points climb a newsroom masthead: Stringer, Cub reporter, Beat reporter, Correspondent, Investigator, Desk editor, Bureau chief, Editor-in-chief. Points come from reasoning, so the ladder measures exactly one thing.
The habit is the point. Skills learned in a game fade within weeks unless refreshed, so cleared material returns as short boosters at growing intervals, and the streak is forgiving by design: miss a day and a freeze absorbs it.
