Crust News accepts no advertising and has no corporate sponsors. Our editorial decisions are made without commercial influence. We do not accept payment for coverage.
Sourcing
We operate a two-source verification standard — no claim is published unless it can be supported by at least two independent sources. Primary sources, documents, and public records are preferred over secondary reporting. Where we rely on a single source, we say so explicitly.
Language
We do not use euphemism to obscure state violence, corporate wrongdoing, or institutional failure. We name things as they are. We apply the same editorial standards regardless of which government, institution, or individual is being covered.
Headlines
We put the truth of a piece in the headline. We do not write headlines that mislead readers who do not read the full article. We call out outlets that do.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted in the body of the affected article with the date of correction. We do not silently edit published pieces.
Conflicts of interest
Contributors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest relevant to their work. We do not publish pieces where a conflict cannot be adequately managed.
