Donald Trump offered Dana White, the head of the UFC and one of his oldest supporters, the job of "Press Secretary of the United States" on Saturday afternoon, in a Truth Social post that ended "Dana, please take the job!"
Within hours, a source familiar with the matter said White had turned the job down, and one aide said Trump was joking. White has not said anything himself. Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, had reposted Trump's message with "Hell yeah! Do it, @DanaWhite!"

Trump wrote that he had asked White to bring six fighters with him as assistants, "even though some are not from our Country": Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison, whose name he spelled "Kayla Harris".
