A federal judge in Miami on Saturday threw out Donald Trump's $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal and Rupert Murdoch over the birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein bearing Trump's signature, and dismissed it with prejudice, so Trump cannot file it again in that court.
Judge Darrin Gayles had already dismissed the case in April and let Trump try again. The amended complaint still failed to show actual malice, he ruled, writing that "grasping at straws, the Amended Complaint attempts to manufacture flaws with the investigation", and that the Journal had carried out a "thoughtful and detailed investigation". He also rejected Trump's argument that the paper should have pulled the story once he denied writing the letter, saying that would run "afoul of the First Amendment".
