Early Sunday morning the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired ballistic missiles and drones at two U.S. installations across the Gulf, the Ali al-Salem air base in Kuwait and the Fifth Fleet's home at Port Salman in Bahrain, calling it the answer to two nights of U.S. strikes on Iran's coast.
The Guard claimed it destroyed eight facilities, an unnamed U.S. official said there were no U.S. casualties or significant damage, and neither claim is verified. Kuwait said its air defences spent the night intercepting fire, Bahrain condemned the strikes as an attack on its sovereignty and blamed Tehran.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, League of Arab States and Gulf Cooperation Council joined in with the condemnation of the Iranian counterattacks. None of the nations or organisations offered condemnations for the two days of U.S. attacks.
