The House voted 214 to 208 on Thursday to direct U.S. forces out of hostilities against Iran. At 6:45 p.m. Eastern, hours after the vote, Central Command began its thirteenth consecutive night of strikes on the country.
CENTCOM released footage of their 13th night of attacks (CENTCOM)
The operation ran until 9 p.m. CENTCOM said it hit Iranian military command centres, drone storage facilities, communication networks, coastal surveillance sites and maritime capabilities, all of it framed as reducing the threat to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Attacks in Iran struck at least 15 areas, including strikes on civilian infrastructure. The attacks on civilian infrastructure have played a larger role in the USA's attacks as of late, in a war that already started off as devastating to civilians, with over 160 schoolchildren killed on the first day.
According to the Iranian health authorities, at least 59 people have been killed since the USA restarted attacks 13 days ago, with a further 666 people arriving at hospitals due to injuries.
