Norway's prime minister, Jonas Gahr Store, is being questioned by his own parliament over how Jeffrey Epstein got so close to the country's political and diplomatic elite.
Store is one of 11 current and former foreign and development ministers summoned to public hearings that opened on Wednesday before parliament's Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs. He was foreign minister from 2005 to 2012, the years when his ministry was funding a think tank run by a man Epstein named in his will.
"There are many people who have demonstrated very poor judgement," said the committee chair, Jonas Andersen Sayed. "The issue concerns public trust in the entire system."
